Principle
Student-owned by default
Students control raw captures, reflections, essay drafts, mentor packets, and what becomes visible to parents or mentors.
Privacy posture
This beta privacy page explains how CareerCopilot is designed to handle student work, family visibility, mentor sharing, AI assistance, and product telemetry. Final legal terms should be reviewed with counsel before broad public launch.

Students control raw captures, reflections, essay drafts, mentor packets, and what becomes visible to parents or mentors.
Principle
ParentHub is designed for safe summaries, deadlines, permissions, and conversation prompts. Raw teen reflections and drafts stay private unless the student shares them.
Principle
CareerCopilot may help classify moments, ask coaching questions, prepare briefs, and surface next moves. It must not ghostwrite final student work or impersonate a student.
Principle
Mentors see only approved share packets. Students can revoke access, close requests, and keep unshared evidence private.
What we collect
Teen privacy
Raw captures, reflection answers, essay drafts, and unapproved evidence cards are private student workspace. Parents and mentors should receive safe summaries, approved cards, and permissioned packets instead of full surveillance access.
Students can approve what becomes visible to parents, mentors, or other support figures. Product flows should show a preview before information is shared and keep a record of approvals.
CareerCopilot is designed for high-school students. The MVP should not support independent accounts for children under 13. Where required, teens should use the service with parent or guardian consent.
Rights and requests
Students and families should be able to request access to their account data, correction of inaccurate profile information, deletion of accounts where legally and operationally possible, and export of student-owned work. Operational audit logs may be retained where necessary for safety, consent, fraud prevention, and legal obligations.
